Standstill

Time stands still
Like the hands of a clock
That don't seem to move
At a parting glance

Time stands still
When the Ruler orders his subjects
To stay at home, and not to leave,
All day, every day.

Time stands still
When the Chief Physician says
More people are falling ill,
And the battle is not over.

Time stands still
When thousands of people
Are isolated in their neighbourhoods
And imprisoned behind barbed wires

Time stands still
As it were
Travelling in pitch darkness
In a tunnel with no light at the end.
