In the blink of an eye
. . parks become deserted

In the blink of an eye
. . streets turn eerily quiet

In the blink of an eye
. . children no longer frolic around

In the blink of an eye
. . worry and anxiety abound

In the blink of an eye
. . freedom is curtailed, not by our will

In the blink of an eye
. . life comes to an uncertain standstill

All happened, as it were,
. . in the blink of an eye

when an elusive plague stops by.
